Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 April 2026
These are the terms of service for Slaps, a mobile app for photographing and collecting football (soccer) supporter stickers. By using Slaps, you agree to these terms.
Questions? Use the contact form.
1. Using the app
You must be at least 13 years old to use Slaps. By signing up, you confirm you meet this requirement.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your password secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
2. What you can post
Slaps is for sharing photographs of football (soccer) supporter stickers you find in public places. You may not post:
- Content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, violent, or discriminatory
- Content that sexualises or endangers minors
- Nudity or sexual content
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights you do not hold
- Spam, advertising, or content unrelated to football supporter culture
- Private personal information about others (names, addresses, faces identifiable without consent)
- Content that promotes or glorifies illegal activity
We have a zero-tolerance policy for content that violates these rules. Reports are reviewed promptly, typically within 72 hours. Violating content will be removed and repeat offenders will have their accounts terminated without refund.
3. Your content, your rights
You retain ownership of the photographs you upload. By posting a sticker as public, you grant Slaps a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app and in app-related marketing (e.g. App Store screenshots). Private stickers are not licensed for any use beyond storing them for you.
You represent that you have the right to post any content you upload — i.e. you took the photo yourself, or have permission from whoever did.
4. Reporting and moderation
Any user can report any public sticker by tapping the Report button on the sticker's detail page. You can also block another user to hide all their public content from your view. We review reports promptly, typically within 72 hours.
5. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, particularly the content rules in Section 2. You may delete your account at any time from within the app (More tab → Delete account), or by sending us a request via the contact form.
6. Third-party services
Slaps uses Supabase (hosting), Apple Sign-In (optional login), and — in future — may use Google Gemini for AI-assisted team recognition. Your use of the app is subject to the privacy practices of these services, summarised in our Privacy Policy.
7. No warranty
Slaps is provided "as is" with no warranty. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or accurate. AI-assisted team recognition (when enabled) is a suggestion, not a fact — you are responsible for confirming team names before saving.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Slaps and its operator are provided to you "as is" and "as available" with no warranties of any kind, and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or reputation arising out of or in connection with your use of Slaps — whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other legal theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded in full, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to Slaps is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid us for the service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that the law does not allow us to disclaim. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by that law.
9. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of these terms and email registered users at the address on file before the changes take effect. Continued use of Slaps after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
